Special enrollment period (SEP) eligibility

Certain life events may allow you to enroll in a new plan or make changes to your current coverage outside the annual enrollment period. Qualifying events may include:

  • Marriage or divorce
  • Birth, adoption, or placement for adoption
  • Death of a covered family member
  • Loss of coverage due to employment changes
  • A permanent move

Cancel your medical or dental plan

If you purchased an Individual plan directly through Select Health, complete a Change Form to cancel your coverage.

Purchased through a marketplace?

If you purchased your plan through the Federal Marketplace, contact the marketplace directly at 800-318-2596.

If you purchased your plan through Your Health Idaho, contact Your Health Idaho at 844-944-3246 (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MST).

Make changes to your medical or dental plan

If you purchased an Individual plan directly through Select Health, use the Individual Plans Change Form to update your coverage.

Examples of changes may include:

  • Updating personal information
  • Adding or removing dependents
  • Changing plan details when eligible

Purchased through a marketplace?

Plan changes must be made directly through the marketplace where you enrolled:

Employer-sponsored coverage

If you receive coverage through your employer, contact your human resources department to request changes to your plan. Select Health cannot make these updates without authorization from your employer.

Add a baby or dependent to your plan

You may be able to add a newborn child, adopted child, or child placed for adoption to your plan.

If you purchased an Individual plan directly through Select Health, complete the Individual Plans Change Form within 31 days of the:

  • Birth
  • Adoption
  • Placement for adoption

Employer-sponsored coverage

If your coverage is provided through your employer, contact your human resources department as soon as possible. Select Health cannot add dependents without information provided by your employer.

Purchased through a marketplace?

If you enrolled through the Federal Marketplace or Your Health Idaho, contact the marketplace directly to add a dependent and complete any required enrollment updates.
