(Benefits Mastercard® Prepaid Card)

Select Health Medicare members receive all their wellness benefits in one easy-to-use Benefits Mastercard® Prepaid Card (Flex Card).

You can use this Flex Card to pay for eligible items and services. Your Flex Card will have different spending allowances for different benefits, including:

  • Wellness Your Way + Over-The-Counter (OTC): Available on all Select Health Medicare plans is an allowance to pay for wellness activities, services, and over-the-counter products. These benefits are a combined spending allowance in your Flex Card account, with a yearly allowance that you choose how to spend. The Wellness Your Way + Over-The-Counter benefit is available on all Select Health Medicare plans.
  • Healthy Living Rewards: When you complete wellness activities, like getting your annual physical, money is automatically added to your Healthy Rewards spending allowance, which you can spend on fitness equipment, wellness services, home essentials, dining experiences, and more. The Healthy Living Rewards benefit is available on all Select Health Medicare plans.
  • Over-the-counter (OTC): An allowance to spend on approved over-the-counter items.
  • Kroger Grocery Benefit: An allowance to spend on healthy groceries at Kroger-affiliated grocery stores. 
    This benefit is only available for members with a confirmed qualifying chronic condition on the Select Health Medicare + Kroger (HMO) plan. 
  • Grocery and Utility Benefit: An allowance to purchase healthy groceries and to help pay for utilities. Note: This benefit is only available for members with a confirmed qualifying chronic condition on the Select Health Medicare Dual (HMO) plan. The Grocery and Utility benefit are only available on Select Health Medicare Dual (D-SNP) plans.
  • Flex Your Way: An allowance for dental, routine hearing exams, hearing aids, vision services & hardware, and personal emergency response systems. The Flex Your Way benefit is only available on Select Health Medicare Flex (HMO) plans.

Select Health has partnered with NationsBenefits® to administer your Benefits Mastercard® Prepaid Card.

You have two convenient ways to activate your Benefits Mastercard® Prepaid Card :

  1. Log in to your personalized MyBenefits portal at SelectHealth.NationsBenefits.com/Activate
  2. Call 833-878-0232 (TTY: 711)

Swipe your Benefits Mastercard® Prepaid Card (Flex Card) at an approved retail location when paying for approved items or wellness services. When prompted, select " credit." If you select "debit," the transaction will be declined. Your Flex Card will use the funds from the appropriate spending allowance to pay for the approved items or services.

The funds will be taken directly from your program allowance. Your card cannot be used at an ATM or for cash back when making a purchase.

Note: Transactions must be made at the store's main checkout, not the pharmacy counter.

  • Activate or manage your Flexible Benefits card
  • Review your wallet balances and expiration dates.
  • Check for eligible OTC products 
  • Check for approved grocery products on eligible plans
  • Order OTC products through NationsOTC.
  • Search for approved retail locations.
  • Track OTC orders and transaction history.
  • Request a Wellness Your Way or OTC reimbursement

You can see what's eligible for purchase by visiting SelectHealth.NationsBenefits.com. Please keep in mind:

  • Product availability and price may vary by retailer
  • This Benefits Mastercard® Prepaid Card (Flex Card) is not a credit card or a gift card
  • Cash cannot be obtained using this Flex Card

If the purchase amount is more than the available funds on your Benefits Mastercard® Prepaid Card, you must pay the remaining balance with another form of payment.

Call NationsBenefits at 833-878-0232 (TTY: 711) and provide your date of purchase of the item(s) purchased, and a Member Experience Advisor will help research the reason for your declined transaction. NationsBenefts Member Experience Advisors are available local time from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. 

We encourage members to manage their monthly and annual spending allowances. Unused monthly spending allowances do not roll over to the next month, and yearly allowances do not roll over to the next year. All amounts are removed if you elect to disenroll from your plan.

If your Benefits Mastercard® Prepaid Card is lost or stolen or if you need additional cardholder information, call NationsBenefits at 833-878-0232 (TTY: 711). Customer Care associates are available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time, 24 hours per day, seven days per week, excluding federal holidays.

The Benefits Mastercard® Prepaid Card is a debit card, not a credit card. Select Health does not run credit reports or send your information to credit bureaus.

This debit card is issued as part of your plan to give you access to benefits without forms or reimbursements.

Note: Even though it is a debit card, you still must select ‘credit’ at the time of purchase for your card to work.

No, you will maintain the use of your current Benefits Mastercard® Prepaid Card.
